Our Story

Cowboy Rx was born in 2008. After twenty years of traditional New Mexican farming, founders Manuel Otero and David McCallister decided to seed their fields with cannabis and the rest is history.

CowboyRX utilizes natural water drip irrigation and the very powerful New Mexican sun and soil to stand out. We are able to grow three tiers of quality cannabis by utilizing, indoor, sun grown and light depth/in house grow styles.

We have 26,000 ft2 under roof/greenhouse space and 28 acres of sun grown plants. 14 acres in Peralta Middle Rio Grande Valley and 14 acres in mountain Ruidoso.

We pride ourselves in having two beautifully different climate zone New Mexican varieties in many different strains. We have an intentional curing process that focuses on terpene flavor and overall integrity of the plant. We then send our plants to be traditionally Hand Trimmed and State tested for quality control.

Cannabis prohibition made it impossible to do what we are doing today. Yet farming is in our blood and every day is progress. We work with a great team of people who help make CowboyRX run and operate smoothly to ensure quality and consistency.
